Link Receives A Sword

Nintendo of Japan launched a sort of web magazine earlier this month called "Nintendo News" and with a recent release also came a short interview with Zelda series producer Eiji Aonuma. Aonuma talks about the series as a whole and tells us that finding treasure is one of the most fun aspects in the franchise. You can find the full quotes below...

My son is in elementary school, and he asked, "What is so fun about Zelda anyway?" I tell him, "Finding treasure is the most fun!" Even if it is only one rupee inside the treasure chest, I think (laughs). Whenever you find a treasure chest, there is always a "Yes! I found it!"-sense of accomplishment, and when you open it, it is just so fun to hear. To discover a new item, I think I find pleasure in both the surprise and the opening.

I think the feeling you get after finding a chest with one rupee is more like, "screw this game."

One thing that annoyed me about Skyward Sword was how there were so many trailers that showcased all the new items before the game's release. No surprises!
