In Spirit Tracks, Link gets a new instrument called the Spirit Pipes. You use the DS microphone and stylus to play the instrument. You have to cycle through different colored to pipes to hit different notes. The Spirit Pipes songs will restore Spirit Tracks. Spirit Tracks are the tracks that take you to the temples and you have to find guardians, known as Lokomos, to learn each song.
