Ocarina of Time Remake Gets a Trainer and Release Date

As part of the Zelda 40th Anniversary Direct we got a more details on the upcoming Switch 2 remake of Ocarina of Time. During the presentation, producer Eiji Aonuma walked us through several areas in the early game to show off gameplay for the first time. The art style is new to the series and Nintendo games in general. It's almost a 3D story book or fairy tale like graphical style but with high levels of detail and texture.

In addition to the new graphics and environment that is built from the ground up, there are a few new gameplay features that were shown off. Unlike the original game, Link can now jump with the press of a button. He can also dash (with no stamina bar) after rolling, a nod to rolling being a faster way to get around in the original game.

In addition to the new gameplay and trailer that you can check out below, we also got a release date. The game will launch exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2 on November 5, 2026. MSRP is $59.99 (digital) and $69.99 (physical) with the physical version getting a special foil box art for launch. The physical version also contains the entire game on cart.
